Oh it was fantastic! The Melbourne Modern Quilt Guild finally had its very first meeting! Such a long time coming! I started this group on 20th January, and here we are, five months later, and we finally met! I have to say it was worth the wait. I was so thrilled to see 29 members attend, and we had a brilliant time. Everyone received a Welcome Gift when they signed in, as well as a raffle ticket, and throughout the day, we drew tickets and 22 prizes were handed out!
We had a fantastic Show-and-Tell Introduction session, and some of the work we saw was mind-boggling! Certainly a very talented group! Then we created our Steering Committee, and we have 14 members including me, as well as another half dozen on Charity and Retreat Sub-committees.
All there was left to do after that was have lunch and hang out together and sew! Some girls brought their sewing machines, and you can see from the photos that it was a very relaxed and wonderful day. Can’t wait for our next meeting!
