Life changes. Sometimes in the most unexpected ways. In the past month or so, life has become so very different, it’s almost unrecognizable. So, I thought it’s the perfect time to write a new list. I love lists, don’t you? I was inspired to write this list after reading a post by the fabulous Jorth on her blog. I haven’t had a project list since I ditched my original idea of doing 25 projects each year. Life had a way of getting in between me and my list, so I threw caution to the wind, tossed the whole 25projects thing out the window, took a deep breath, and figured that, as I heard a very smart man say once, what I would get done would be just exactly what I did get done. No more and no less, and that’d be just brilliant.
Somehow, I just feel like right now, I need a list. They’re kind of comforting, don’t you find? To begin, I revisited my original list of projects for 2011 from this page, last updated on 5th August, and I asked myself the question, “What am I actually going to get done this year?” The following list is my answer to that question. Here’s what I hope to accomplish in the remaining months of this year:
Quilts
1. Liberty Stars Quilt – sew all the blocks together and add the border
2. Gelati Parti Quilt – my MMQG “Oh, Bee-have!” quilting bee quilt – complete the quilt top
3. The Olive Poppy Quilt – complete the quilt top and the quilt bottom, and sandwich the quilt (I’ll create a page for this quilt soon)
Dressmaking
1. Another pair of Like The Ark pants
2. City Shopper bag from Nicole Mallalieu‘s book, “You Sew, Girl“ using this fabric that I just bought from Ink & Spindle
3. Burda 7662 dress using this Japanese fabric
4. A top from the pale blue silk that I just bought at Tessuti‘s remnant sale
5. A summer dress from the navy and pink linen that I also just bought at Tessuti’s
6. Nicole Mallalieu’s “Draped T-Dress“
Baby Things
1. ½ dozen gauze wash cloths
2. Baby wraps from Japanese double gauze fabric (4)
I will probably add a couple more items to this third category – Baby Things, as January and the birth of my grandchild draws nearer.

Yes, I have to agree, lists can be comforting. But I also love the quote: “what I would get done would be just exactly what I did get done”
