I’m a complete novice when it comes to making jewellery. When I see beautiful things, I often think to myself, “I wish I could make things like this myself!” So when I happened across a post somewhere about Lori Anderson’s 5th Bead Soup Blog Party, I decided it would be a great opportunity to try my hand at it.
My Bead Soup Blog Party partner is the lovely Karen Vincent, who runs an Etsy jewellery business with her daughter Emma called Swallowtail Jewellery. I love that! You can read her blog here. She also has a Facebook page that you should visit.
Here are some photos of the beautiful things she’s sent me to make my piece of jewellery from, including beautiful Czech beads, fabulous copper and vintage brass findings and chain, and a pretty focal that she embossed, painted and sealed with wax.
I sure hope I do justice to the gorgeous things she’s sent me. I have to start scouring the web for ideas and technical instruction. Wish me luck! This is going to be fun! I’ll post more soon! In the meantime, there’s plenty of eye candy to be found on the blogs of the participants of this 5th Bead Soup Blog Party.

Great soup, you should have a great time designing with that. If this will truly be your first jewelry creation it will be extra special.
I am sure you will do great with your lovely soup.
