YSG! On Cloud Nine Wristlet

On Cloud Nine Wristlet (with antique brass swivel hook)

I made this wristlet from Nicole Mallalieu‘s book, “You Sew, Girl!” as a practice run for making her City Shopper bag, which is very much the same pattern, only larger. Fabrics – Nature Walk and Cut Out & Keep by Cloud9.

I really love this little purse. And it goes perfectly with my new summer coat!

The Ark Clothing Company - coat

I'm in love with the buttons on this coat!

Pattern notes: There was quite a lot involved in making this purse, I worked through Nicole’s instructions, took my time, because it’s all in the details, and I wanted to end up with a really well-tailored bag. The book was very clear, every step explained really well, although I did have to make myself read through part of it over, so that my “oh yeah, I know this” wouldn’t lead me astray. It was well worth it, and I can’t wait to make another bag with new fabrics! I learned heaps in working through this project, thanks Nikki! Oh, and I learned (unfortunately, from experience) that I need to check the heat on my iron before pressing the fusible interfacing to my fabric. Cotton setting was too hot, wool setting – perfect!
