I scanned and enlarged the elephant and flowers etc from the fabric itself, and embroidered the design in a simple chain stitch with DMC Perle 8 thread, doubling back in the opposite direction to make the embroidered lines thicker.

HOw do you trace your design on to the quilt? What paper and pen materials did you use? Did you use an embrodery hoop? Etc Thnaks

    • Hi Sue, no, none of the above. I was shown a really neat way of doing it. Trace the design onto some tuile and then, positioning the design onto the right side of the fabric, use your favourite washable/disappearing marker or pencil (I used a 2B pencil) to draw over the design. The marker/pencil goes through the tuile right onto the fabric, leaving you with a clear stencil.

    Hi Helene,
How are you!!! I was speaking to Div the other day and she was telling me all about your new quilting hobby along with your other blogs so thought I would jump online and have a look for myself. Your quilts are absolutely gorgeous – especially the wild thyme quilt and baby themed quilts!!!!
    Sending love – Nat xxx
