Welcome! I'm so thrilled you're here! I'm Helene, and this blog is about my sewing, dressmaking, quilting, knitting, and sometimes other craft exploits.

I hope you enjoy reading it.

And if you're interested in where my passion for sewing comes from, you might like to read my About Me page. I have a fantastic old photo of my great grandfather's factory in Europe.

Travelling Chelsea Sewing Pouch

The name? Well I figured that since I’d used leftover bits of fabric from Gita’s Chelsea Quilt, I’d name my little sewing pouch in honour of her quilt. Why not. And why make this little pouch when I have so many little containers in the house ranging from silver-grey mesh zippered pouches to my favourite little Chocolate by the Bald Man tin? Because I see everyone else’s pretty little handmades and my store-bought repurposed items just didn’t feel right any more.

And besides, I got to use my pretty flower head pins for the first time. At 1:00 in the morning, with my husband in the hospital with now only one kidney, and questions still unanswered, find pleasure where you can, right? Even in the little things.

So, measuring a neat 5½” x 4¾”, here it is…  my Travelling Chelsea Sewing Pouch…

Do you just love that olive green button?
