Forgot to tell you. I finally have my fabrics all ready for making my Ice Cream Dress. Last Wednesday at Amitié, I found (thanks to Lisa’s keen eye) a bolt of striped fabric on the 50% shelves at the back of the shop that matches perfectly with the delightful yellow and blue flower fabric I’d pulled from my cupboard. This fabric, the one from my cupboard, was one of the first fabrics I bought in preparation for making my very first quilt. I’d already signed up for the class at the little quilt shop in Maling Road, Canterbury, and even though I didn’t yet have a materials list, I went on a shopping spree. Well, several shopping sprees really. See, we went on a trip to Queensland to visit with Max and Karen for a couple weeks, and I found so many quilt shops to source fabrics for this wonderful first quilt. And Karen was so helpful in finding me more shops too. I came home with I can’t tell you how many metres of fabric, but I reckon I coulda made about ten quilts from everything I’d bought, and still had plenty to stash in my hall cupboard. Crazy. Poor Moshe. He saw the writing on the wall. He was already a very experienced spouse of an avid scrapbooker, so he knew the drill. Need I say more???
Doesn’t the striped fabric go perfectly with the floral piece? I can finally begin this project. Cutting starts this weekend
