Unbelievable! I learned something today that’s really awesome. If I place the fabric on my cutting board onto the low coffee table in our lounge room, and lean right over the fabric so my right arm is virtually hanging straight down, then I have gravity on my side, and it’s really easy to cut through one or two layers of fabric with hardly any pressure! What’s so great about that, you ask. Well it looks pretty strange, but my shoulder is not doing virtually any of the work, and so it’s fairly happy. As happy as a shoulder can be when it’s recovering from acute calcific tendinitis! So I got to cut out all 48 squares for my raw edge circle quilt. They look so gorgeous! I absolutely love this fabric – it’s called ‘Wild Thyme’. Granted it took me hours and hours – all day in fact. But they’re done!
There is a down side. Unfortunately. The down side is that my back is really rather unhappy. It’s kinda like robbing Peter to pay Paul, but hey, the sore back only needs a heat pack and a good night’s rest, and it’ll be just fine. So there you are. 48 x 8″ squares of pretty!

isn't the fabric gorgeous! love those little blue birds!

had to put this pic in too so you can see all the layers
Actually, I should probably get a picture of all the squares laid out, so you can see them all, but I’m going to reserve that till I have all the circles cut and placed on top of the squares. Don’t worry, you’ll see what I mean once I’ve done it.
Now, more telly while I wait for the hour to pass since I took the Panadol so I can do my 4 little shoulder exercises and go to sleep. Hopefully before 3am tonight! PLEASE!
