Austin’s Chevron Baby Blanket

Austin's Chevron Baby Blanket

I fell in love with this blanket the moment I saw it on the Purl Bee website. It’s knitted in beautiful colours of Blue Sky Cotton, a gorgeously soft 100% cotton yarn.

it's so soft to the touch, and drapes beautifully

If you read my post, you’ll know that I’d bought two extra skeins of yarn – one in Mediterranean, and one in Raspberry, planning to wait till my grandchild was born before deciding on which to use.

aren't they gorgeous colours!

Our darling Austin was born on 15th January, so the Raspberry was clearly out, and after much deliberation, I happily settled on this line-up:

First the Mediterranean, then Lemongrass, Lemonade, Bone, Tulip, Drift, and finally, Sleet. The Graphite didn’t make it in.

knitting the chevron stripes were really easy

I do have a bit of a warning though about the pattern. I handled it simply by adding in that extra stripe of Mediterranean, so it’s not a real drama. Except that you need to order one more skein of yarn.

it's a perfect size for my 2-month-old grandson

time to test it out

yeah, he loves it!

how gorgeous is he!

Sorry for indulging. I know this is page is about the blanket, but he’s just so adorable. Outshines everything else.
