Last year, as everyone was busy making beautiful Christmas stockings, I decided it was time to replace my matzah cover. For the past two years, we’d had to borrow one from my sister-in-law, mine – the one I received as a wedding present over 30 years ago – having vanished into thin air. In my blog and craft site browsing, I came across Molly’s Sketchbook Afikomen Cloth on Purl Bee‘s website, and decided I’d make one of those to match. Unfortunately, the Afikomen Cloth tutorial is no longer available there, but they have graciously sent me the PDF and you can download it by clicking here. With all my injuries, surgeries and other things, it took me much longer than I’d hoped, and in fact, I only just finished the gold beading two hours before our Seder was due to begin – just in the nick of time!

The Afikomen Cloth was completely inspired by Molly’s Sketchbook: Afikomen Cloth from the purl bee website. The only change I made was to the embroidery, since I used different fabric.

[Ed. I’m afraid the page with instructions has been deleted. I’m trying to find it in old site backups but I fear it’s gone for good. I’m so disappointed.]
You are an awesome artist! I am sorry to hear of your surgeries. I hope you get to feeling better. May Hashem heal you completely and bless you.
I just tried to use the link for the instructions to make your beautiful Matzah cover. I cannot get it to work. Can you help?? I would love to make this for my in laws and know that this is just perfect for them.
Thank you in advance and I just love your work!
Kind Regards
Susan
Thanks so much Susan for letting me know the link was broken. It’s fixed now 🙂
Thank YOU!!! 🙂 Can’t wait to make it. Will definately share when I finish. One more question….I can’t get the link to the afikomen cloth to work either….is this something you can fix or is it the other webpage?? I love the set.
Appreciate your kindness and inspiration,
Susan
I’m afraid that the link is not working… I’m sorry to bother you, but your matzah cover is so beautiful! I would love to make this for my family.
